2026 South Central Kansas Ashram
Get away from it all!
Arkansas City United Methodist Church is hosting the 2026 South Kansas Christian Ashram this year at Camp Horizon Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, 2026. Sign up below or in person at the church, 2448 Edgemont Dr., Arkansas City, KS 67005. Registration is $50 per person and includes dinner Friday evening, and breakfast and lunch Saturday.
Activities begin 5 p.m. Friday, with dinner, worship, the Hour of the Open Heart, and a word from Rev. Dr. Tom Albin. The Ashram concludes Saturday by 4 p.m.
The word Ashram (pronounced ah”shrum) is from the Sanskrit language meaning, “a retreat,” or more literally “away from hard work.” It is a time for spiritual growth proclaiming, “Jesus is Lord,” setting aside time for worship, silence, prayer, relaxation, and fellowship.

Join Us During Holy Week for the Passover Seder
Thursday, April 2, 2026, 5:30 p.m., at Arkansas City United Methodist Church, 2448 Edgemont Dr. Arkansas City, Kansas.
"For I received from the Lord what I also passed down to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.'"
The scene that the Apostle Paul recounts is the Last Supper or Passover Seder that Jesus shared with his disciples just before his passion. The meal commemorates the Exodus from Egypt and includes traditional readings, ceremonial food and drink, recounting the story, and sharing a meal. Dinner includes roast chicken, vegetables, salad, and dessert. Please join us!
Cost is $10 for adults 11 years and older; $5 for children 5-10 years old; and free for children under 5. Registration is required; pay at the door.
Registration is Closed for Vacation Bible School
Children, pre-school through 5th grade, are invited to join us for "Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus."

Each evening begins with a light supper and includes Bible story time, crafts, activities, music, and exploring God's beautiful world.
