Christian discipleship – Ark City United Methodist Church

Two of our children ran cross country during their school years. It’s a very interesting sport, with significant amounts of strategy and mental preparation.

My father-in-law, David Leeper, of blessed memory, had a dirt works construction company. Among other things, he made terraces in fields, dug ponds, and built locations for oil rigs.

It is amazing to me that a year has passed already since I became your pastor. As I stop for a moment to take stock and to look down the road a bit, a nautical term comes to my mind: “steady as she goes.”

I am sure I am not the only person who is flabbergasted at how quickly 2023 is passing. Entering the month of May, we stand right on the edge of the summer schedule.

One of my favorite principles when it comes to thinking about the Christian life is leadership author Stephen Covey’s, statement: “Begin with the end in mind.”
